Scheduled

On Monday, Nov 8, at 20:00 UTC, we will be deploying a change that disables connections to https://api.mux.com that utilize TLS 1.0 or 1.1, as well as deprecating a number of insecure cipher suites. If you have any devices that communicate over TLS 1.0 or 1.1, you will not be able to make API calls to Mux services, and you will need to update all connections to use TLS 1.2 or newer and secure cipher suites. For devices that use TLS 1.2 or newer, there is no anticipated impact.

TLS 1.0 and 1.1 have been formally deprecated as reliable cryptographic protocols by the IETF (https://therecord.media/ietf-officially-deprecates-tls-1-0-and-tls-1-1/) and all major browsers have dropped support for these protocols already. In an effort to constantly improve our security posture, we are deprecating support for TLS 1.0/1.1, and requiring secure cipher suites to be used.
